The Brown Box

The Brown Box

I was going for a walk in the dark, stormy and raining night. I heard howling noises coming from behind me. I tripped and landed on the cold, wet pavement. I hit my knee really hard. I looked ahead, and saw a brown box. I picked it up, and went home quickly. When I got home, I opened the box slowly. I found an iPod Nano Chromatic! It was green, and had a white shiny dial. It had a new looking screen and grey outlining the iPod . That night, I couldn’t sleep. I was wondering what I should do with it. I finally fell asleep at 1:00 AM and woke up at 6:04 am. I got dressed then went to have some breakfast. I was really wondering what to do with the new iPod. I found it near the school, so maybe I should return it to the office. But at the same time, maybe I should keep it.

I remember when I was 8 years old, and I lost my $100 bill I had gotten on my birthday. It was in my jacket pocket, and when I took it off, I left it on the front step. When I woke up, I ran right to the front step. When I got there, there was the jacket, with no bill in the pocket. I was so upset. I stood there crying. Then an elderly man came up to the front step and handed me a bill. He said, “This yours?” I nodded and said thank you! He said, No problem!”

So I decided I would return it to the office. Mrs. Mohan made an announcement and a little boy came in with a teacher. She came to me and said, “where did you find it?!?” I replied, “”I was going for a walk and found a brown box.” He stopped me and said “I was going for a walk to! I must have dropped it! Thank you for returning it! Bye!” he left, then I knew I had made the right decision. I think I made the right choice.

Rememberance Day

I think it is important to have remembrance day because we are remembering all of the soldiers who went to war and fought for us and for us to havee freedom. We sing O-Canada every morning at school, so we can remember those who went out to fight. I think rememberance day is a good thing to celebrate and take a day off to remember for.

Pickletoes and the Haunted House

Pickletoes and the Haunted House

THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! Pickletoes was running from the 7 foot tall, enormous, smelly, frightening bully. He ran into the post office to hide. The bully went thumping past the doors without noticing him. He decided to check his mail while he was there. His Mom had gotten him his own key, seeing as he was always so interested in getting the mail alone. He pushed the silver shiny key into the hole and turned, to find a small old looking letter. He was surprised to see it was addressed to him. He decided to open it. After all, it was his. He read it aloud.

“You have been invited to come to the old house on 2nd street. Be there at 12:00am. So he decided to go. He didn’t really want to, but what if it was really important? So, that night he snuck out to go. As he approached it, he could see the icy mist on the door. As he reached for the doorknob, he heard cackling. A voice boomed as he entered, “UP THE STAIRS WITH YOU! NOW.” He ran up the stairs swiftly. Slowly, he entered the first room. Nothing. As he was walking up to the second door, he heard the voice again,

“ENTER! BEFORE I COME OUT TO GET YOU MYSELF! ENTER!”He entered; slightly terrified .It appeared to be a toy room. It had old flowered wallpaper. There were some toys he had never heard of or seen before. He didn’t know what he should do next. So, he asked.

“Now what?”Pickletoes said, shaking. He got a reply, “Open the toy box, IF YOU DARE!” Pickletoes ran out faster than a vacuum cleaner could suck up the cobwebs in that old house. He went straight to bed, and had nightmares of the old house. The next day he went to get the mail, and there was a new letter. It said,

“Last time you chickened out. This time, you will report to that house, and open the toy box. Or Else!” So he decided to go. He didn’t really want to find out what could happen. It could be worse. He could be being haunted, or watched! So, when he went the next day, He wore his football gear, just in case. He went straight in the house, and up the stairs. He then again, heard a voice,
"COME AND OPEN THE TOY BOX. BEFORE YOU CHICKEN OUT AGAIN, OR I GET ANGRY!"
IF YOU DON’T, I WILL HAUNT YOU FOREVER! He slowly approached the toy box and was about to open it, and the laughing was getting louder. His heart was pounding and his hands were shaking, just as he was planning to run, the lid swung open! There was a small boy waiting there. He had tears running down his cheeks and his eyes were frightened. Pickletoes was screaming like a girl. He stopped when he realized the boy was crying. He said,

“Why are you crying? I should be the one crying! You have scared me half to death and YOUR upset?” the boy said in a whisper,

“I’m sorry. I just wanted to be helped to get home, and you are the one I chose and put letters in your mail box. I am sorry! Really really sorry! Please forgive me and help me get home. Please?”

“Yes. I guess so. Where do you live?” Where do you live?”

“I live on 228 3rd Ave. SE. Do you know where that is?

“Yes. I will take you there. Pack your stuff.” So the boy and Pickletoes left the old house. Pickletoes went to the post office and checked his mail, and was grateful that there was only a flyer. The End!

Happy day after halloween!! For Halloween, I wore a scull mask. The best part was getting candy. I got 54 bags of chips, 7 pop, and a big bag of candy! I went trick-or-treating with Erica. We went for 4 hours. (4:00-8:00) Our feet were really sore, but it was worth it!
